  • Basic riffs on multiple strings

  • Simple picking patterns (alternate picking)

  • Playing with backing tracks at 80–100 BPM

Band Participation

  • Students keep steady chords during short group jams

Studio Experience

  • Record 12 bars with click track

  • Basic intro to amp sims, EQ, and tone shaping

Certification Parameters

  • Play 5 common progressions with control

  • Keep time within ±5 BPM

  • Smooth transitions between chords, riffs, and strumming

Exam Format (Model Assessment)

Theory (20 marks) – notation, rests, bar counting

Practical (50 marks) – chords, riffs, tempo control

Performance (30 marks) – ensemble piece
